Hand painted artwork for ‘Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan’

ENERGETICS | 2023

Energetics, an Australian climate risk and energy transition expert, commissioned a custom piece (1.2 x 1.8m) of artwork to both hang in their main office and feature on their ‘Reflect - Reconciliation Action Plan’ in October 2023.

During this engagement, we met so many interesting people within the business, and we were inspired by their passion to ‘Unite for a 1.5°C world’ which was the inspiration for the three elements focal points land, water and sky. The artwork Natalie created represents the current state of our climate, the impacts, and effects humans have had and our actions, or rather inactions, for change. Emphasis is placed on the upper-right quadrant which depicts Energetics moving in an upwards trajectory, on the right path, guided by Natalie’s ancestors along this journey. The lines and dots are multi-coloured to reflect the diverse and inclusive culture Energetics embodies.

This artwork took 60+ hours and used more than 25 colours!

We were thrilled to visit Energetics’ Head Office in North Sydney for the launch of the painting that Natalie titled ‘Resilience’. During this visit Natalie had the opportunity to share her story and the story behind the artwork with both the team in North Sydney and those that joined in virtually from the other offices across Australia.

DENAT Group was also pleased to assist in organising the high-resolution scans, framing and installation of the artwork.

“Our Reflect RAP is an important first step for Energetics. I look forward to creating opportunities for new relationships, and exploring the contributions we can make together for our shared future and our shared response to climate change. During this process Natalie and Deniz made a real point to get to know us, understanding what Energetics is trying to achieve both as a business and from reconciliation perspective. We are so grateful for how you shared your story as well as the absolutely stunning ‘Resilience’. We will treasure it forever!” – Dr Mary Stewart | Energetics CEO

Hand painted artwork for ‘Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan’

GARTNER | 2023

Gartner, a provider of research and advisory services for businesses, commissioned a piece of artwork to appear on their first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) that represented their reconciliation journey.

Given our longstanding relationship with Gartner, Natalie was able to delve right in and create an artwork representing Gartner’s journey in being ‘Together as One’ - the connection to land, the people and many cultures that form part of who Gartner is today.

Natalie titled the artwork ‘MAWANG’, the Wiradjuri word for ‘All Together’. In this artwork, you can see the significant meeting places that resemble Gartner’s partnership and connection on this land. The dots resemble the cultural diversity of the people at Gartner, as well as the First Nations people who are on our lands.

"Working with Nat on our first Reconciliation Action Plan has been the start of a wonderful partnership. At Gartner, we believe we win as a team, and it was important to us that we found an artist that we could have a long term, meaningful relationship with. The quality of Natalie’s artwork is exceptional, and she captured our reconciliation journey beautifully in a unique piece, titled MAWANG.

Since then, Nat has delivered thought provoking, educational sessions for our associates in line with our RAP, taking the time to understand our business and tailor messages. Most recently, she created a huge new artwork for refurbished Sydney office which stands proudly in our reception, a visible signal of our ongoing commitment to reconciliation. Thank you for your work and the ongoing partnership Nat!" – Megan Cadd | Gartner Associate Director EMEA, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

NAIDOC week Indigenous art workshop

TBH CONSULTANCY | 2023

TBH Consultancy, an Australian consultancy providing special project management services, requested the facilitation and delivery of a hybrid Indigenous Art Workshop for 125 employees, both virtually and face-to-face, to celebrate NAIDOC week.

We used a three-stage approach in the delivery of this workshop. Firstly, the planning phase where Natalie and TBH’s RAP Champion developed the vision, intention and agenda for the workshop. The second phase involved organising all the logistics and supplies for each office location, as this was a national workshop, Deniz and Natalie worked tirelessly to ensure lead times were met and every office had sufficient supplies as well as set-up guide. The third phase was the delivery of the workshop which consisted of a 30 minute group discussion around Aboriginal Art History, the 2023 NAIDOC Week Theme, what creativity means, and a history of commonly used Aboriginal art symbols. The rest of the workshop was a guided art activity which aimed to help people connect Aboriginal art symbols to their journey and express this via painting onto a canvas.

It was great to see the TBH Consultancy team embracing and celebrating Aboriginal culture.

"I had several say afterwards that they really enjoyed the workshop and were thrilled with the event. Thank you for all the efforts you put into this event, both today and in the lead up. You certainly helped keep us organised and I feel you really offer an above and beyond service. Your passion into your business shines through with your delivery and support throughout the journey and I was honoured to be a part of you sharing parts of your culture with us."  – Jessica Clissold | TBH Administration Operations Manager
