Our story

DENAT Group is in the business of supporting and assisting organisations and government departments mobilise in the space of developing and implementing initiatives that focus heavily on Reconciliation, Education and shifting the context of the conversation around First Nations outcomes.

DENAT Group’s vision is to shift impactful conversations into action.

The couple’s story goes beyond entrepreneurship; it’s a legacy Natalie and Deniz are building for their children. They’re determined to provide a future for their kids where anything is possible. Together they’re bridging the gap between conversation and actionable solutions.

MANAGING DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER

Natalie Sabuncuoglu

Natalie, a Proud Wiradjuri / Wailwan woman born on Dharug land, is an accomplished artist with a passion for creativity.

 

A finalist in ‘The Fisher’s Ghost Art Award 2023’, her art focuses in on a contemporary Indigenous form with a style passed down from her Nan and ancestors.

 

Through her works, Natalie is committed to a sense of strong connection and belonging with the view of passing this down to not only her children but others also. To pay respects and homage to her ancestors, Natalie paints under her family name being Natalie L. Simmons.

Natalie's passion to contribute and make a positive difference to Aboriginal communities started when she worked as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. During her time in this role, Natalie was involved in the strategy development and implementation of the COVID-19 Vaccination for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the South-West Sydney Area Local Health District. She made a large contribution to the NSW Aboriginal Chronic Care Program and was pivotal in ensuring the program approach was holistic and captured the essence of providing culturally safe care.

Natalie brings her compassion and desire for helping others to her role at DENAT Group, partnering with individuals and organisations in art consulting and cultural learning projects.

Natalie currently holds external RAP advisory roles with TBH Consultancy, Energetics and GSK.

DIRECTOR OF PARTNERSHIPS

Deniz Sabuncuoglu

Deniz has extensive corporate and government experience with a background in supply chain management and procurement advisory. His previous roles have allowed him to hone his skills in providing advisory and consulting services to C-suite leadership and their teams.

His vast experience with large enterprises organisations and government departments ensures he’s best placed to understand business drivers and the potential friction points along the journey.

 

Deniz provides a unique perspective as an ally to First Nations culture, and his experience as a co-facilitator with Natalie. He complements the approach with providing a non-indigenous lens in recreating experiences, challenges and opportunities for growth.

 

His aspirations to ensure a better future for his and Natalie’s two children (and all Indigenous kids) is what drives him to ensures all interactions with DENAT Group are best-in-class.

In his role, Deniz works closely with all DENAT Group clients and suppliers to ensure ethical and cultural practices are followed.  

DENAT Group acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to lands, waters and communities. We pay our respect to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past and present.
